This is a problem for many people, i personally think most relationships only work, if the people in it can actually be happy alone. A relationship is an enhancement to your life and should not be a pillar you build your happiness on. This puts unnecessary pressure on the relationship and it shows in your behaviour from the start, as you said, you get clingy and stuff cause your happiness is bound to this other person and the relationship working out.
Couldn't agree more. Also being comfortable with being single gives you the psychological armor to know that your life won't fall apart if you feel the need to break up with someone.
I was initially on the wife and kids side because I didn’t read this thoroughly. He doesn’t need to be a father figure for a 15 and 17 year old. Looking back I saw the 10 year comment. He’s been their only father since 5 and 7?! He IS the father in their life. Children that young don’t come to the conclusion that the man solely responsible for their wellbeing for a decade isn’t their father unless someone has been telling them that. The wife is definitely to blame for filling the kids heads with this nonsense. I went from skeptical to so angry for everything this poor man has been put through. This is heartbreaking.
