If you raise the baby, you might resent it.
If you choose to leave the marriage, your kids may resent the baby. They’ll no doubt blame the baby for the divorce and may treat it poorly as a result.
If you stay and give up the baby for adoption, your wife may resent you for wanting her to give up a baby that’s half her.
If you don’t raise the baby, the rapist may fight for parental rights. Hell, he may do it regardless.
It’s a shitty situation where what’s best for one person will likely be what’s worst for another. And there is no situation where everyone wins, unless someone in this scenario learns to let go of resentment.
Even if you end the marriage, the baby will be tangentially in your life as a sibling to your children. You may not have to raise it, but you’ll still hear about it regularly and, in the best interests of everyone, will have to do your best not to show any resentment.
I’m so sorry that all of you are going through this. The only advice I have is to see a therapist, alone and together, and decide what scenario will leave you all the most unscathed.
