I'm wondering that myself. He's a very relaxed person, so he's a little hot to read. However, he's been acting more off than normal recently. I'll have a discussion with him about possibly getting help or else the relationship is doomed.
After reading thru all of this, what I simply can't understand is why you're still with the BF if he's so toxic and mentally draining for you?
This isn't even about you having already met someone else to replace him (talk about bouncing from one relationship to another quickly) but about having more respect for yourself than to allow someone to treat you this way?
And then you should ask yourself why you're so afraid of being alone that you'd stay with a toxic BF of a mere five months than be alone so you have room to breathe and not jump into the next relationship that comes down the pike, simply to have “someone” in your life?
It’ll certainly get misinterpreted that way. It’s, of course, not at all what I’m saying.
