First of all, people who are racist also tend to be AHs in other areas of their lives. They are more likely to misogynistic, homophobic, classist, etc, or otherwise mean spirited. If he's willing to write off an entire segment of the population just because of their skin color, he's not going to act much more logically in his personal relationships either.
Second this guy has already proven to you he is mean spirited. When you let him know it made you uncomfortable the way he talked about black people, he purposefully used that against you in order to make you uncomfortable by bringing it up in a passive aggressive way.

Man this reminds me of a girl I dated in my 20s. I introduced her to someone as my girlfriend, she told me much later that she just thought “I guess I'm his girlfriend now,” and was happy about it. Man, I’ve always been baffled that married couples cheat on each other and have affairs, but I really get it now. If I thought that just having an honest conversation about some normal sexual stuff was going to literally ruin my life, I wouldn’t say anything either.
