Relationships are super complicated. The person we want to spend the rest of our lives with appeals to us based on a lot of factors that have carry various weight.
So, in my opinion…
Is your uncle’s girlfriend into him because he can provide her with security? Yes. Hopefully, it’s not the only or even the main reason she is with him, but almost certainly it’s a factor.
Is your uncle with his girlfriend because she is very young and (presumably) very attractive? Of course. Again, hopefully they connected on a much deeper level and this is no longer the major factor for your uncle, but it almost certainly plays a major role in their relationship.
Are you allowed to be skeeved out because of the age difference? Sure! Your emotions are your own and your feelings have a basis. It’s not an excuse to be mean to people but as long as you are polite and cordial to the girlfriend, no one can expect you to be bestsies.
But is their relationship valid? Absolutely. They are consenting adults and how they choose to manage their relationship is not about you or anyone else. No one’s permission or blessing is required for them to be genuinely in love.
